The TiVo came today. As several other folks have mentioned, they have apparently run out of the 14-hour version and are now sending out 30-hour machines. What better time to enter the contest and get one of your very own? Yes, of course they're seeding early-adopter types for publicity, and they do get to use your winning entry for promotional purposes. But if you can stand being part of the zombie horde (scroll down), go for it! I won't be able to play with mine for over a month, so I can at least spread the joy.

Tonight is the last night of the catalog job, finally. It's taken up so much of my time and thought over the last two months that I will probably feel a great sucking hole in my life come Thursday night (tomorrow, I will be happily distracted at the Bareknaked Ladies show at Shoreline). And you know what? I'm looking forward to it. Downtime is good, as this weekend so amply demonstrated.

In less great news, the new car didn't pass smog today. Grrr. As if trundling down to the DMV to register it a month before moving out of state wasn't hassle enough. I'll be taking it tomorrow morning to the smog guy my mechanic recommended—hopefully he can run the diagnostic that the ARCO guys recommended today and fix it so the %^$@ thing will pass.

But I'm not grumpy.
