Another day of total computer hell. It's been acting up rather severely since the beginning of the week, and I've spent at least two hours every day since then trying to figure out what's wrong and trying out various solutions, including the dreaded "to hell with it, let's reformat the hard drive" manuever. It's working now, but it would be a severe understatement to say that I don't trust it to continue doing so. But since the big guns failed to solve the problem, I guess I'll go back to fiddling with littler things; at least it doesn't take as long.

{sigh}

One good thing out of all of it, though, is that my hard drive is now optimized and much better organized. I took some time as I was copying things back to go through some files and rearrange. Also found a lot of stuff I hadn't seen in a long time, like old journal entries. It's always a total time warp to read things like that.
