New guilty pleasure, now that I have cable: Junkyard Wars on TLC (or Scrapheap Challenge for those more Britishly-inclined). This show is a blast to watch: two teams of amateurs have 10 hours to build a device (like a demolition machine or a windmill) using only what they can scavenge from the set's well-stocked junkyard. Drama, lots of welding, and good doses of British humor and science education all rolled into one! I'm at the movies tonight, but you can bet the TiVo will be busy taping tonight's marathon for later consumption.
