Back in the Bay Area, and I seem to have brought the rain with me (sorry to everybody here). Otherwise, though, it's been a great trip so far. It's good to be back in the office for a while and go out to lunch with friends. One thing I have learned on this trip that I didn't expect to: I never want to own an SUV, at least not anything above RAV4 size. I've never been especially enthusiatic on environmental grounds, but after driving the rental Explorer I have for one day I honestly don't see the appeal, especially in an area of the country where parking and space in general are at such a premium. The stereo, however, is a definite keeper—I just need to get a car worthy of one. Someday.
