Well, I'm sort of recovered from the Portland trip. Walked right back into a big pile of work and several dozen emails, but it was worth the two days off. The weather was as good as I've ever seen there, about 80 degrees and sunny the whole weekend. We did a lot of driving around scouting houses & prices generally, but no big decisions so far. A lot of good food, chai, and coffee was had by all, I saw three movies, got to hang out with good friends, etc. Also had the pleasure of listening to The Lynda Barry Experience all the way through on the drive down and the drive back—stories like hers are perfect for the open road, especially at dusk pulling into a small-town ARCO for a hamburger.
