A weekend of recovery. We finally turned off the news here the other day—I assume anything new coming out of New York or DC will probably not be good news at this point. I’m worried about what the Bush administration will do and some of the rhetoric I hear (particularly Falwell & Robertson), but heartened by the fact that we have chosen to go on gathering information and preparing rather than attacking right away.

Turns out that Navy ship yesterday was a destroyer, the USS Fife. I saw it going back out this morning, and a couple of Coast Guard cruisers patrolling around also. Apperently Puget Sound has several big ships in the water right now, no surprise given the number of bases around. If we do end up going to war, it’s going to be a tense time here for lots of families.
