Yet another great online dance tutorial, following in the footsteps of Dancing Paul and ZeFrank. [via little. yellow. different.]

Kitchenpalooza

This has been the Week of Cooking. The house is awash in holiday cookies, the meatballs and mashed potatoes are done for Christmas dinner, Mom got her swanky birthday crab cakes and asparagus, and I’m pooped and on a sugar high. We won’t even get into my dishpan hands.

My kind of Christmas poem.

Last trip of the year

December 10, 2001

It’s booked. For anybody who reads this from the Bay Area, I’ll be back down from 12/27 through 1/6—let’s hang out! Two exciting bits from my day today: I finally replaced my futon mattress with something a little more comfortable, and the Margaret Cho tickets came in the mail! The Deb and I will be seeing the Notorious C.H.O. live at Flint Center, and I am so ready for a little fierce humor along her lines.

coverI picked up the DVD of I’m the One That I Want and watched it again over the weekend—it was even better the second time around, alternately poignant and pissed off. NetFlix is being kind too; I just got Go Fish in the mail today.

So the weeks are winding down toward the end of the year, and I will soon be joining the ranks of the unemployed in the nation’s worst job market. Any good thoughts and wishes are gratefully accepted—this is either just the challenge I need or the most foolish thing I’ve ever done (maybe both). I guess we’ll see how it all shakes out. Ever forward!

Hopefully a day of grand adventure and exploration, and it would also be nice if I can get my laptop fixed [...]

High school’s come a long way since I was a teenager (or at least some high schools). I’ve often wondered how my life might have been different if I’d figured out my orientation earlier (I was almost 20 before it finally dawned on me). Most of the time I think it wouldn’t have been significantly [...]

‘Tis the season…

…for Random Present Day! Now that the site’s back up, I signed up for Secret Santa. So now I get to go shopping for someone I don’t know, AND I get a present! What a deal…just another example of the Web bringing people together. Join by December 10 if you want to play — all [...]

Back from the wilderness

December 4, 2001

Well, it’s a bit overdue, but the redesign has finally happened. There will be various tweaks over the next few weeks, but the major backend stuff is complete, and the whole weblog is now contained in the fabulous Moveable Type content management system. Whew! Thanks for waiting…I’ve learned more about Perl and my hosting server [...]
