Looking Back..
…at my last entry (before last night), I see I had promised updates and photos from the great Scooter Rally. Sadly, these are not to be, due to events of that day. Briefly put, I had a great ride up the Peninsula to S.F., and then, about 45 minutes into the rally, popped an unfortunate and unintended wheelie on a hill and crashed. So rather than having a lovely, semi-drunken tour of the city on my beloved Rasgulla, I spent most of Saturday at St. Luke's, took the train home, and didn't manage to get my scooter back until a month later. The organizers were kind enough to take it back to the shop, and several wonderful people stopped their own rides temporarily to help me until the ambulance came. The upshot is that 4 months later, I've recovered from my torn ligaments (after wearing a brace for 2+ months) and am looking forward to more riding and a mild winter after I get my license.
And the lesson? No more hills, at least for now. Need to get some more serious skills before I try that again.
