I happened upon your blog by accident. I am on the same path as you are but not so far along. My mom was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer a year ago. She did some chemo and was declared in remission in December. Then just 3 weeks ago they found that the cancer had come back. She'll do chemo again but is passing on the radiation the doctor told her could help ... she also has emphysema so the radiation could damage her lungs beyond repair. She says she's lived a good life and if this round of chemo doesn't give her anymore time, she'll quit.
I wish you all the best at this very difficult time for you and your family. It sounds as though you are in a good place and will absorb the grace that death will bring to you mother.
